The body acts as a barrier to time or change. Time is not allowed to pass – for sometime. The body does not allow change to take place – but the body itself changes with time – time is a super force. There is no force greater than time. The body allows, but partial changes. The partial changes await at the body. Every partial change, as absorbed by the senses, is stuck at the body barrier and they keep accumulating – some lead to changes within the body (like heartbeat, blood flow and other body functions) and some change the body in space – movement. But the changes are still not complete.
Before enlightenment, there is only a future (and no past) as nothing has passed into the past – everything is lying ahead of us. Whatever has happened waits at the physical body and is always ahead of us, never behind. These events are waiting to relieve themselves as they are stuck at the body.
As a man gets enlightened, a void forms in the body and all partial changes that were stuck at the body barrier are allowed to flow (through the void) into the past and complete themselves thereby making themselves devoid of potential or essence. They had essence or potential as they were not allowed to pass into the past and were stuck. They lose their potential and become the past. They lose their potential while they pass through the void.
This place called the “past” is infinite as there is no physical body that stands as a barrier to time.
This “past” that is beyond the void is beyond the senses.
And everything that is perceived by the senses is without essence.
With time, if the body does not allow time to pass, time carries the body along with it – it is called death.
